MENTORING CODE OF CONDUCT

CONGRATULATIONS! As a mentor or mentee in Diverse Talent Strategies (or “us”) mentoring program, you are now about to begin one of life’s most rewarding and fulfilling experiences. Your participation indicates that you agree to our standards and code of ethics. You recognize the magnitude of the responsibility that you accept in choosing to participate in this program and agree to interact appropriately according to the highest ethical standards at all times in connection with the mentoring program.

Be yourself! Please read the following guidelines carefully.

There are numerous ethical issues surrounding a business mentoring relationship. Business ethics has many dimensions, particularly in the realm of cyberspace. As part of the community, we ask that you agree to a basic set of guidelines and principals that are outlined below. Though not exhaustive, we hope these guidelines will assist you in establishing and honest, trusting, and rewarding relationship. We ask you to use these guidelines as the basis for the relationship you are about to develop.

By accessing or using the mentoring website and thereby becoming a part of the community, you are agreeing to abide by this Code of Conduct. Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct and the Terms of Use may result, among other things, in termination of your account and the deletion of content that you have posted with or without notice, as determined by the mentoring program administrator in its sole discretion.

Diverse Talent Strategies reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to change, modify, add, or delete portions of this Code of Conduct at any time without notice to you. If we do this, we will post the changes to this Code of Conduct on this page and will indicate at the top of this page the date these terms were last revised. Your continued use of the Website after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the new Code of Conduct. If you do not agree to this or any future Code of Conduct, you may not use or access (or continue to access) the Website. It is your responsibility to regularly check the Website to determine if there have been changes to this Code of Conduct and to review such changes.

As a participant of the mentoring program, you shall not to engage in any tortious or criminal activity and if you do engage in such activity, you understand that you are solely responsible to the fullest extent of the law and that you will be responsible for retaining your own legal counsel at your own expense and paying any and all necessary fines and other costs. You will indemnify, defend, and hold Diverse Talent Strategies (and its affiliates, agents, officers, employees, stockholders, directors and representatives) harmless from and against any and all claims, actions, loss, damage, expenses, judgments, costs (including any attorneys’ fees, court costs, and related legal expenses) or liability, whether or not involving a third party claim, arising from or in connection with: (1) your actions (or inaction) in connection with the mentoring program; (2) any actions that you take outside the scope of your contract and mentorship; or (3) your violation of any applicable law, rule, or regulation.

MENTORS AND MENTEES: AS A PARTICIPANT IN THE MENTORING COMMUNITY, I AGREE TO:

  1. Treat others within the mentoring community with respect

  2. Put an honest effort and commit sufficient time toward each mentoring relationship established

  3. Not promote goods or services from sources in which I have a financial or personal interest (this is not a sales call)

  4. Not accept fees or commisions

  5. Represent oneself honestly (no fake identities or aliases)

  6. Recognize the diversity of the Diverse Talent Strategies community and respect the variety of cultural norms, beliefs, practices, and values it contains

MENTORS: AS A MENTOR WITHIN THE COMMUNITY, I AGREE TO:

  1. Not use any ideas, products, or materials that a mentee has, or may develop, to further my business or financial interests; and maintain the confidentiality of all ideas, products, or materials that have been entrusted to me by my mentee

  2. Encourage my mentee to maintain the highest ethical standards

  3. Maintain a high standard of personal and professional conduct with my mentee

  4. Always communicate in a truthful manner

  5. Support the goals of my mentee

  6. Avoid the intent or appearance of unethical or compromising practice in relationships, actions, and communications

  7. Refer my mentee to the mentoring program administrator for issues or questions for which I feel unqualified

MENTEES: AS A MENTEE WITHIN THE COMMUNITY, I AGREE TO:

  1. Put effort and energy into getting matched with a mentor

  2. Learn about my mentor in advance and be able to articulate how they might help me by sharing their experience

  3. Create relevant, specific, detailed, and clear mentoring goals

  4. Proactively build and maintain my mentoring relationships

  5. Communicate regularly and openly with my mentor

  6. Honor my commitment to my mentor

  7. Complete any tasks agreed upon by my mentor and myself

  8. Hold all sensitive information provided through my mentoring relationship in strict confidence
